Over 600 flights affected by German airport safety employees strike


Greater than 640 flights in Germany had been canceled on Thursday because of safety employees strikes at Duesseldorf, Cologne and Stuttgart airports in a bid to place stress on administration in wage talks.

Out of 1,054 scheduled flights in whole, 643 had been canceled, the airports mentioned, including that a lot of its passengers which common 115,000 per day, could be affected, with important delays at safety checkpoints.

Public sector union Verdi mentioned it was negotiating on behalf of 23,000 safety employees in Germany. Wage talks are to renew on 23 January, it mentioned. The union has demanded a pay enhance to 20 euros per hour earlier than tax.

On Monday, a strike at Berlin’s Schoenefeld and Tegel airports had triggered delays and flight cancellations.
